SYLLABUS

The objective of this class is to make working with equations easier, saving time and energy for the author of the scientific report and her or his support staff.

Topics include:

• the meaning of equations
• symbols in mathematics and science
• formatting equations (such as breaking, spacing, sizing)
• forms and tables to help interpret handwritten equations and to facilitate keyboarding

Participants are encouraged to bring to class samples of equations or symbols they've had to work with, especially work that has presented problems.
