The 8th Wonder

Who doesn’t recognize the Brooklyn Bridge?

(OK, maybe not everyone has its image on mugs, plates, kitchen towels, T-shirts. And a magnet. And  I’m sure I’m forgetting something.)

The bridge opened on May 24, 1883, and has been called the Eighth Wonder of the World.

This article probably has more than you wanted to know, but take a look!

(How many of my readers have crossed the Brooklyn Bridge? By foot? Car? Taxi?)

In my first trip to New York in 1965. We drove across the bridge.

I so hope it happens, Maryellen. Maybe it will be the same week I go back! (ThrillerFest has been held in Manhattan for many years, except for ’20 and ’21. My bags are packed for ’22!)

My very first trip (in my 64 years) to New York was scheduled for September 2020. I still have my wardrobe ready, my new suitcase primed, my reservations on hold . . . Maybe, maybe someday.
